Using a good quality lube during solo or couples play can greatly enhance sensation and pleasure and depending on the activity, lubricant can be an absolute essential. With so many types on the market, it can be hard to know which lube will work best in which situation. We've broken them down into a broad range of categories
Water based lubes: the all rounder
If you're looking for all round, general purpose lube, we recommend going with a good quality water-based product. Our range of lubes are specially selected to be long lasting and not get instantly sticky like cheap, supermarket lubes. They’re safe for use with all types of toys and condoms and won’t stain your clothes or linen.
Sensitive and hypoallergenic lubes: a gentle option
For those with known allergies and people who tend to react to products such as cosmetics and soaps, there are many great hypoallergenic lubes on the market that are free from common irritants such as propylene glycol, glycerin and parabens. Some of these sensitive formulas are pH balanced and most also contain nourishing and moisturising ingredients such as olive leaf extract, hemp seed oil or aloe vera, making them a great choice for those experiencing issues with dryness due to hormonal changes.
Hybrid lubes: a little bit extra
Hybrid lubes are a new addition to our range and offer you the benefits of water-based lube with a little bit extra. The hybrid fusion of silicone and water provides a classic longevity with the benefits of a no-fuss clean up. Coconut hybrids are water based lubes with coconut for a rich, creamy and non drip super smooth glide that is compatible with all toys.
Gel and cream lubes: extra thick and non-drip
We also have a great range of gel and cream lubes with a thicker consistency. Water based gel lubes are perfect for use with toys such as anal plugs thanks to their non drip formulation. Oil based masturbation creams are a great choice if you're looking for something long lasting and extra slippery.
Silicone lubes: always slippery but use with caution
Silicone lubes are renowned for being silky smooth and the longest lasting lubes on the market however they can get quite messy. While they're fine to use with glass and metal toys, they aren't recommended for use with silicone toys unless you've applied a condom to the toy first as silicone lubes have the potential to react with and damage silicone toys. While silicone lubes are quite greasy and may leave a stain on your sheets or other fabric, they are waterproof so they're perfect for use in the shower.
Anal lubes: a must have for back door play
We also stock long lasting water based and silicone lubes which are a must have for anal play and exploration. For anal sex, silicone lubricant is the best choice however if you plan on incorporating silicone toys, you might be best sticking with a water based formulation. Some products have the addition of clove oil which can desensitise the area and increase comfort. We recommend steering clear of lubes with anaesthetic or numbing agents as if you're experiencing pain during anal play, it's your body's way of telling you that you need to stop and slow down.
Flavoured lubes: extra tasty
There's a great range of flavoured water based lubes for those who want to add a little extra sweetness to their play. From fruity to dessert to cocktail flavours and everything in between, there's a flavour for every taste! Flavoured lubes can be used for everything a regular water based lube can and the high quality varieties we stock feature food safe flavourings and zero added sugar.
Stimulating lubes: heighten your sensation
For extra sensation and heightened pleasure, we stock a range of stimulating lubes that can increase satisfaction and provide a bit extra to help you reach climax during couples and solo play. Cooling lubes often use natural ingredients such as peppermint oil to offer a thrilling, chilling and tingling sensation. Warming lubes use natural ingredients such as rosemary oil can provide a pleasant gentle heating sensation which can boost blood flow and sensitivity in the area applied. While these types of lubes are often used to increase and enhance sensation, they can also be of great benefit for people experiencing premature ejaculation issues. When using a cooling or warming lube, it's best to start off with a small amount as the intensity increased along with the quantity used. They can take several minutes to reach their full effect and can be used in conjunction with and diluted by regular water based lubes.
