What’s Your Toy Made Of?

What’s Your Toy Made Of?

Globally, medical products and children’s toys are strictly regulated to ensure that what they’re made of and how they’re designed and constructed mean they are safe to use. You might be surprised to know that the same can’t be said for adult toys. While the industry is in the early stages of developing a set of international voluntary standards, the product safety regulations for adult toys even in Australia are virtually non-existent.

That’s why we take great care in curating our range of affordable, safe and high-quality toys from reputable suppliers and manufacturers to provide you with the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.

Almost all of the toys designed for any kind of penetration that we stock are made of high quality, body safe silicone. Silicone is the gold standard for plastic-based insertable toys because it’s free from nasty chemicals such as phthalates, rubber and PVC. This means that silicone toys are not only safe but very durable, easy to clean and because silicone is non-porous and non-reactive, it also repels odours and stains. Silicone toys can be safely stored together unlike other types of plastics without melting, fusing or disintegrating (this actually happens!)

You’ll also find a wide range of toys made of borosilicate glass, aluminium and surgical steel in stock at Get On Top. These toys are also very durable and body safe plus they can be chilled or warmed in water for heightened sensation and pleasure.
